The Biblical Hebrew Poetry section focuses on all aspects of Hebrew poetry in the biblical canon: archaic poetry, the role of oral tradition, poetic meter, parallelism, structural and nonstructural poetic devices, imagery, metaphor, and figurative language. At every annual meeting of the Society of Biblical Literature, the section organizes a number of sessions dedicated to topics of interest.
